Yuji vs Toji – who will win

IN SHORT
In a fight between Yuji and Toji, the clear winner would be Toji Fushiguro. Toji once defeated Gojo, the most powerful character in Jujutsu Kaisen, which gives us a good idea of his strength. While Yuji has super speed, power, and strength, Toji’s abilities are on another level due to his Heavenly Restriction, experience, and skills.

Yuji vs Toji Full Breakdown

Yuji Itadori (Without Sukuna) Toji Fushiguro
1. Strength & Physical Power
Yuji possesses immense physical strength that allows him to overpower cursed spirits and even other sorcerers. For example, during the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc (Chapter 45-54), Yuji’s strength was showcased when he fought against Aoi Todo and cursed spirits. He relies on his raw power in battles, delivering powerful punches and agile movements to outmaneuver his opponents. Despite this, his physical abilities still have human limits. Toji, known as the “Sorcerer Killer,” surpasses normal human limits in physical power. His strength is evident in his battle against Satoru Gojo in the Hidden Inventory Arc (Chapter 72-75). He effortlessly wielded the Inverted Spear of Heaven and killed highly skilled sorcerers without relying on cursed energy. Toji’s body has been trained to perfection, allowing him to compete with and even overwhelm sorcerers using his sheer brute force and honed instincts.
2. Combat Skills & Techniques
Yuji is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, trained in martial arts. His fighting style is adaptable and creative, using his surroundings to his advantage. During the Shibuya Incident Arc (Chapter 116-120), he showcased these skills while fighting against Mahito, using rapid strikes and fluid movements to counter Mahito’s ever-changing forms. However, Yuji’s techniques rely heavily on his physical abilities and can be predictable against a more seasoned fighter. Toji’s combat skills are second to none, especially when it comes to dealing with sorcerers. He excels in assassination techniques and is proficient with multiple weapons. His battle with Gojo during the Hidden Inventory Arc demonstrated his lethal precision, where he managed to fatally wound Gojo and take out his entire squad. Toji’s ability to switch between weapons and tactics makes him an unpredictable and dangerous opponent. His experience in battle allows him to exploit any weaknesses his opponent might have.
3. Experience & Battle Intelligence
Yuji, while a fast learner, lacks the battle-hardened experience that Toji has. His intelligence in battle is more instinctual and reactive. In the Death Painting Arc (Chapter 53-55), Yuji’s quick thinking allowed him to adapt to the cursed brothers, Eso and Kechizu’s attacks, but he often relies on others like Megumi for strategic planning. Yuji’s limited experience can sometimes make him vulnerable to more seasoned and cunning fighters like Toji. Toji’s battle experience is vast, having survived countless life-and-death situations. His intelligence in combat is methodical and calculated. He carefully studies his opponents, as seen when he analyzed and exploited Gojo’s weaknesses in the Hidden Inventory Arc. Toji’s experience allows him to predict his opponent’s moves, giving him an edge in most battles. He is known for his ability to fight against sorcerers effectively, even those considered powerful, using a combination of strategy, technique, and his own physical prowess.
4. Cursed Energy & Tools
Yuji, without Sukuna, has no access to significant cursed energy or techniques, relying instead on his physical abilities. His strength lies in his capacity to use cursed energy-enhanced physical attacks, like the Black Flash. However, in his fight against Mahito (Chapter 119), Yuji struggled to maintain his strength and focus when facing opponents with overwhelming cursed techniques. His limited cursed energy use places him at a disadvantage against skilled sorcerers or fighters who use cursed tools, like Toji. Toji’s unique ability to hide his presence due to his lack of cursed energy, known as the “Heavenly Restriction,” makes him a formidable opponent against sorcerers. He compensates for his lack of cursed energy with cursed tools, such as the Playful Cloud and Inverted Spear of Heaven, which he used to great effect against Gojo and Geto. His mastery over these tools and his ability to nullify cursed techniques make him a dangerous adversary, as he can neutralize the advantages that sorcerers typically hold over non-sorcerers.
5. Speed & Agility
Yuji is incredibly fast and agile, able to close gaps quickly and dodge attacks with ease. This was demonstrated in his fight against Choso (Chapter 135-136) during the Shibuya Incident Arc, where his speed allowed him to evade Choso’s piercing blood techniques and strike back. However, Yuji’s speed, while impressive, is still limited compared to someone like Toji, who moves with a deadly efficiency honed by years of experience. Toji’s speed and agility are almost superhuman, allowing him to move faster than most sorcerers can react. His agility was clearly shown when he ambushed Gojo and Geto in the Hidden Inventory Arc, dodging their attacks effortlessly and delivering lethal strikes. Toji’s movements are precise, fluid, and relentless, giving his opponents little time to react. His years of battle have made his reflexes razor-sharp, making it extremely difficult for anyone to land a hit on him, especially in close combat where his agility truly shines.
