Yuji Itadori vs Maki Zenin – Conclusion of the Battle

IN SHORT
In a fight between Yuji Itadori and Maki Zenin, Yuji’s raw power and curse techniques would go up against Maki’s incredible strength from her Heavenly Restriction and her skill with cursed tools. Maki might have the advantage in strength because of her Heavenly Restriction, but Yuji has also grown much stronger. Because of this, it’s hard to pick a clear winner in a hypothetical fight, making the outcome very unpredictable.

Yuji vs Maki Full Breakdown

Yuji Itadori (Without Sukuna) Maki Zenin
Physical Strength
Yuji’s physical prowess is exceptional. He can shatter walls and deliver powerful blows. In the Shibuya Incident Arc (Chapter 126), Yuji’s raw strength was enough to fight the Special Grade Curse, Mahito, nearly on equal terms without any external power boosts. Maki’s physical strength is even more formidable after she underwent intense training and became similar to Toji Zenin. In the Perfect Preparation Arc (Chapter 149), she effortlessly sliced through a cursed spirit and defeated the powerful Zenin Clan members with just her physical power alone.
Speed and Agility
Yuji is extremely fast and agile. His movements are highly unpredictable, and he can dodge most attacks with ease. For instance, in the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc (Chapter 33), Yuji dodged several of Aoi Todo’s rapid and powerful attacks in quick succession. Maki’s speed is also remarkable, especially after her transformation. In the Perfect Preparation Arc (Chapter 149), Maki moved so swiftly that even the most experienced sorcerers of the Zenin Clan couldn’t track her movements. This agility complements her immense physical strength, making her a deadly force.
Battle Experience
Despite being relatively new to the world of Jujutsu, Yuji has faced numerous powerful opponents, such as Mahito and Hanami. His adaptability in combat is shown during the Shibuya Incident Arc (Chapter 123), where he quickly learns to counter Mahito’s transfigurations. Maki, having trained since childhood, has vast experience in fighting both humans and cursed spirits. In the Shibuya Incident Arc (Chapter 117), Maki fought against several Grade 1 sorcerers and cursed users, using her expertise in weaponry and hand-to-hand combat to overwhelm her enemies.
Tactical Intelligence
Yuji is highly intuitive and can analyze his opponent’s weaknesses in the heat of battle. During the Death Painting Arc (Chapter 57), Yuji identified the weak points of the Curse Brothers, Kechizu and Eso, and coordinated with Nobara to exploit these weaknesses effectively. Maki’s tactical prowess is honed from years of rigorous training and missions. In the Shibuya Incident Arc (Chapter 117), she strategically used her environment and superior weapon skills to defeat enemies who underestimated her due to her lack of cursed energy, showcasing her brilliant tactical mind.
Weapon Mastery
Yuji is proficient in hand-to-hand combat, but he lacks significant experience in weapon usage, which could put him at a disadvantage against a seasoned weapons user. His primary reliance on brute strength and speed sometimes limits his ability to utilize weapons effectively. Maki is an expert in weaponry, particularly in handling cursed tools. During the Shibuya Incident Arc (Chapter 117), she wielded the special-grade cursed tool, Playful Cloud, with deadly precision. Her mastery over various weapons allows her to adapt quickly in battle, making her a versatile combatant.
Cursed Energy Manipulation
Yuji has a decent grasp of cursed energy, allowing him to enhance his physical attacks with cursed energy. During his fight with Mahito in the Shibuya Incident Arc (Chapter 126), Yuji displayed the ability to imbue his punches with cursed energy to damage Mahito’s soul directly. Maki has minimal cursed energy, but her lack of it is compensated by her extraordinary physical abilities. In the Perfect Preparation Arc (Chapter 149), her enhanced physical strength and speed, coupled with her near-zero cursed energy, allowed her to defeat cursed spirits and sorcerers alike with ease.
